UDS has developed custom solutions that make it easy for our customers to enter or import orders and print labels. Everything is managed as a service. There is no UDS software or hardware to purchase or install.
Advanced Shipment Notification (ASN)
The receipt of an ASN file from our customers is the source of most orders into our system. Orders are generated from an electronic Advanced Shipment Notification (ASN) file that is provided nightly to UDS by the customer. Various file and transmission options are available. File format examples include: CSV, XML, EDI, TXT, and more. Transmission methods include: FTP, Web service, E-mail, and more.
Customers may choose to enter orders directly through our website using our simple form.
Customers who provide their own unique tracking numbers for each package If orders are entered through the web interface, your own unique package tracking numbers may be hand-entered or scanned into the order to add pieces to the order. You can either use your own labels or print UDS labels (with your tracking numbers / barcodes).
Customers who cannot provide their own unique tracking numbers for each package Simply enter the number of pieces for the order and our system will generate unique UDS tracking numbers for you and you can print our UDS labels (with our tracking numbers/ barcodes).
Additional web order entry features:
- ‘Address Book’ Feature for fast and easy order entry and address management
- ‘Required Signature’ option
- Special Instructions
- Customer Order Identifier (i.e.: Invoice number, etc.)
In order for UDS to track packages, each package must have a label with a unique barcode (containing it’s tracking number). Our UDS labels contain unique barcodes. They can be printed directly from our web interface. Labels are available in various sizes (ie: 4×4, 4×6) and can be printed on your printer (ie: Zebra, laser).
Labels can be printed from two places:
- the order screen
- the bulk label printing screen
This gives the flexibility to best fit the label printing into your process; at the time of order entry or all at once.
